Tasting Notes
Malaria Black is a gin that offers a singular sensory journey. From its striking appearance, which reflects the colours of red fruits, through an aromatic sensation that carries you to a forest of flowers and spices such as jasmine and black pepper, to the wild contribution of fruits such as blackberry and raspberry. Its flavour is concentrated, with the gin base lifted by the taste of the red fruits.
It is a fresh, exotic gin, excellent in a classic Gin and Tonic scented with fresh herbs such as mint or basil, and equally good with cucumber or with sweet accompaniments such as chocolate.
Versatile for cocktails, it comes into its own in classics such as the Gin Sour and the Bramble.
Appearance
Intense violet with reddish glints and marked legs.
Nose
On the first nose, fruity and citrus notes come through, with a spiced touch that balances the opening tones.
Palate
High unctuousness in the mouth, accompanied by early-arriving flavours such as ripe wild berries, which set the profile, followed by the citrus edges of those fruits and a harmonious aftertaste.
Finish
Fleeting astringency and an aftertaste balancing the red fruits and the spices.
